Thermal Imaging Centers of America

Thermal Imaging Centers of America

As parents, we need to stay healthy for our children. Kerry Press, a resident of the Valley of the Sun, is here to help us do just that.

Kerry is a certified clinical thermographer and the president and founder of Thermal Imaging Centers of America™. When Kerry was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008, she knew nothing about thermography. At that time, she was led down the path of what she calls “fear and urgency” by her doctors and chose to have a double mastectomy with reconstruction.

She truly does believe that if she had known about thermography, she would still have her breasts today.

Now, with three thermal imaging clinics in the valley, Kerry is committed to sharing her story, helping others understand all of the benefits of thermal imaging and how it provides a road map to optimal health. She answered some questions for Family Fun Arizona.

Q: What exactly is thermography and how does Thermal Imaging Centers of America™ help people maintain their health?

A: In the last 35 years, thermography has moved beyond being an adjunct to just breast health screening. There exists more than 800 peer-reviewed studies that have been submitted to various medical journals. Thermal imaging today can be used to aid in the detection of breast disease and so many other health issues, too many to list, but a few are: thyroid issues, arthritis, cancer, candida, chronic immune deficiency, deep vein thrombosis, fibromyalgia, gallbladder issues, heart disease, kidney or pancreatic issues, skin cancer and even whiplash.

When I set out to invest in bringing thermography to others through Thermal Imaging Centers of America™, my primary mission was to educate as many people as I could and help everyone understand all of the amazing benefits of digital infrared thermal imaging. It seemed to defeat my purpose to talk passionately about this technology and not be able to provide thermography as a service. I wish thermography had been my first line of defense when I received my cancer diagnosis. Had I known about thermography, I truly do believe I could have averted a now-unnecessary diagnosis and an aggressively barbaric treatment and instead used thermography to track the success and effectiveness of particular protocols I would have followed.

Q: How does it work?

A: Thermography is a safe no radiation and non-invasive no touch screening technique that can detect signs of disease or dysfunction developing up to 10 years earlier than conventional screening methods that currently are being used as part of our traditional “standard of care.”

While other diagnostics such as ultrasound, X-rays, CT Scans, radiography and mammography show the body’s structure or anatomy, digital infrared thermal imaging shows physiological and metabolic processes instead. This provides a different, more introspective and pre-emptive evaluation of a person’s complete physical and physiological well-being.

It has been determined that with the advent of the internet, the ready access we have to privileged information, and the ever-increasing movement toward prevention, those who add thermography to their annual self-care checklist will acquire an advantage to a longer, healthier life.

It continues to be better understood that disease, dysfunction and even cancer need to be detected before a diagnosis so that we can make whatever changes would be necessary to avert, forestall or even prevent a now “predictive” diagnosis. Thermography is the exact tool to do that.

Q: Who is on your team?

A: We have board-certified clinical thermographers and board-certified clinical thermologists. Our primary reading doctor has more than 30 years of experience reading these images in a clinical setting, has done more than 100,000 clinical studies, has moved thermography beyond just the breaststo full-body interpretations and is a board-certified thermologist from Duke University.

Q: How much does thermal imaging cost? Do you accept insurance?

A: Of the many scans or studies we do, the most popular are the Full Body (27 images) for $550; the Half Body for $395 (19 images); the Prostate and Testicular (5-7 images); and the Breast and Lymph (7 images) for $250.  All of these scans include an in-depth and comprehensive interpretative report as well as copies of each image of your study.  We also offer a one-on-one doctor’s consultation for a nominal fee of $60 where our reading doctor will meet with you to review your report with you and answer any questions you may have.

We do not accept insurance at this time.  However, you have the option to submit your procedures to your insurance carrier for reimbursement. Insurance reimbursement would be dependent upon your insurance carrier’s policy and the specific policy coverage you hold.

We provide you with a “superbill” with the designated medical billing codes for submission to your health insurance carrier.

Q: Can you share a few words from clients with us?

A: There are a number of client testimonials on our website, but here is one comment that sums up what we do:

“As a healthcare provider, and MD, I highly recommend thermography. Having thermal scans should be a regular part of everyone’s health/wellness screening as it is safe, effective and can be one of the best predicting diagnostic tools available. As a healthy individual, I learned so much about my body that I would never had known until performing this scan.”

Q: Is there anything else you’d like to add?

A: Yes! I encourage all of your readers to get the new year off to a healthy start. I make it clear that early detection does not wait. Along those lines, we are offering 10 percent off ANY scan for your readers as a “thank you” for taking the time to read and learn more about thermography and Thermal Imaging Centers of America™. When booking an appointment online or over the phone, just refer to or add the promo code FAMFUNAZ, which expires March 31, 2018. It’s a reward for empowering themselves by learning more about thermal imaging.

I will continue to fulfill my personal mission of educating others about thermography. I offer to speak to groups, organizations, meetings and employers at no charge.  Anyone who is interested can call me at (623) 243-7100.
